parts hard to find in austria, better buy another hymer in DE, for spares;
i am trying to put in another engine in my hymer, if the officials accept that maybe i will sell my rust rust (spare) hymer;
it would be the ideal spare for you because it has the very very seldom 90ps engine which has only 54t km, guaranteed;
it is situated in villach and can be driven (brakes OK)

did you look at the dvd?
i send you alot of goodies on it!

Hallo Janez,
I own an Hymer-Bedford Mobil for 15 years and try now to make it perfect in my may.
I changed the back axle, installes disc brakes, made a better electrcity
and, and.
Next will be a stronger engine , a 5-speed gearbox a third front seat
and an underfloor  47 Liter gastank instead of the Gasbox wiith the two bottles.
I had bougt last year an old 2,3 LIter engine and was prepered to build this one up für an Super-Engine.Now, I got the big bore blocks with spezial parts and that means, this particular engine is not longer useful for me.
In the moment we rebulidt that one with new bearings(metalsheets) ,
new piston rings and the cylinder have been honed.It will be a good, checked enginge.
If you are interested , it will be ready in some weeks.
What I also sell are complete Frontbrakes.
If you need further assistance , I live like georg near vienna.  
Have been some weeks ago in your country, may favorite places are bovec and kobarid, tis time we have use the cable car to the KANIN, :D

Progress on my Hymermobile is very slow. But still, now I can drive around my neighborhood with it. I have to finish  interior and find some parts for service.

Hallo Janez,
I did not see jour message from Sept. 2 nd, so here my answer:
Engine and Front-Disc-Brakes all together has cost more than 5,000.- Euro,can be even more but I still did'nt make a final calculation- every thing works perfect and that is it..
For instance with the brakes we have changes all Rings, Hoses and even the discs, because we did not want to start in one of the follwing years again..
Or an other example: for the completely rebuildt engine I ordered  a spezial gasket made from cooper, because it will cause less troubles than a normal one.
OK that's all fro today, tell me where you live.

sehr gut dass du nun, auch wenn man das in deinem film nicht sieht, neue bremsen hast..auch sonst sieht dein wagen, bis auf die noch fehlende stossstange, sehr gut aus..wünsche dir noch viel spass damit..

Are about 20 Years Expierience with this Engines enough?-Ok let's start:
the ordinary, 2,3 LIter -petrol-enginge in my Hymer 581 hat a fuel-consumpton of about 16-18 LIters, with the boat on the trailer (about extra 1500 Kilos ) up to nineteen.
In the old days , when leaded fuel was yet sold in your country, the consumtion was about 15 % lower, because this petrol had more enegy in it, like black.-und brown coal.
We build in 2009 an complete new enginge with mainly Bedford-parts, just Carburetor, Valves, Pistons
where different an the compression-ration is quite higher.
THere ist not only a resonable higher rate of power-output, but also in connection with a 5-gearbox the fuel-consumtion ist about 20-25% lower, last summer from Grado to vienna over the mountains we checked out about 15,4 LIters with good speed an noz less than 3 rd gear over "Pack, Wechsel and
Tarvis.
I think, if your car is in good condition, engine ok and well set up, 16 LIters may ba acceptable.

hallo keza2cv,
ich versuche mal deine beiden beiträge miteinander zu verbinden. wenn du immer, wie im film zu sehen, nur so relativ extrem lange touren fährst,  wird sich dein spritverbrauch, so denke ich, im ca. 20-ltr. bereich befinden.
zu den film selber, der ja mit bremsentest betitelt wurde!!
mmmmh...
abgesehen davon, dass du anscheinend in einer schönen und ruhigen gegend wohnst, habe ich von einem bremsentest eigentlich leider nichts erkennen
können. 
abschliessend aber, dein fahrzeug sieht zumindest von aussen sehr gut aus..
